The French jewellery establishment "Cartier" has long been synonymous with luxury and glittering wealth. The company was founded in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier, but passed out of family control in 1964. Credited with developing the first practical wristwatch, Cartier has been connected with some of the most famous pieces of jewellery ever created.

Cartier has long been the jeweller of choice for many royal families, providing tiaras and other royal jewellery, and in 1904 received a royal warrant from King Edward VII. Today, Cartier has over 200 stores, in countries around the world.
