Guerlain Perfume and Cologne
One of the oldest perfume houses in the world, the French perfumer Guerlain was established in 1828. The house was held by members of the Guerlain family up until 1994, when it was acquired by Louis Vuitton. Despite the transition, Guerlain is still known for its high quality, luxurious perfumes and is a favorite of many around the world.
Guerlain has created over 300 distinct fragrances since its earliest days. Until the retirement of Jean-Paul Guerlain in 2002, the role of master perfumer was handed down through the family, but is no longer tied to the family.
Guerlain is still producing many of its most famous scents, one of which, Eau de Cologne Impériale has remained in production for over 150 years. Guerlain was also the developer of "Jicky," said to be the first modern fragrance, and the first to be referred to as "perfume."
