The Miyake Design Studio was founded in 1970 by Japanese-born Issey Miyake. Issey originally studied graphic design then worked in both Paris and New York before returning to Tokyo to establish his design studio and Issey Miyake Inc., the company responsible for manufacturing and selling his clothing lines.
