Fashion designer and film director Tom Ford received international renown for turning around a struggling Gucci. Born in Houston, Texas, he later moved to New York City so he could study at New York University. He dropped out after a year to pursue a career acting in television commercials, in which he was quite successful. He then moved on to study interior architecture at Parsons The New School for Design. Before graduating, Ford spent time in Paris, and interned for fashion label Chloe. Although he graduated with a degree in architecture, Ford had realised his true passion was for fashion.

After working and designing for Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, he launched his own label "Tom Ford" in 2005. In addition to menswear and accessories, Tom Ford is also known for its optical frames, and the Tom Ford Beauty brand.

Tom Ford fragrances feature luxurious, masculine scents for men such as "Grey Vetiver" and "Tom Ford for Men" and stunning, sensual scents for women like "Black Orchid" and "Jasmine Rouge." Additionally, Tom Ford has a line called "Private Blend" that features a number of scents that can be worn by either a man or a woman, including "Private Blend Azure Lime" and "Velvet Gardenia."
