American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger was born in Elmira, New York, in 1951. He got his start in the world of fashion by purchasing jeans, and then customizing and reselling them. Despite his popularity, his first store was more of a hang-out spot than a successful business and went bankrupt when he turned 25. He founded the Tommy Hilfiger Corporation in 1985 and introduced his menswear collection in 1992. The Council of Fashion Designers of America selected him as Menswear Designer of the Year in 1997.

Today, the Hilfiger line, which is now owned by Calvin Klein, is known for upscale denim collections for men and women, with classic inspirations and modern styling, as well as casuals and even a home bedding and linen line.

Tommy Hilfiger has a large and varied fragrance collection, featuring scents for men and for women. The Tommy Hilfiger for men collection includes tried and true favorites such as "Tommy" and "True Star Men" and his women's collection includes "Tommy Girl" and "Dreaming."

Tommy Hilfiger’s last fragrance outing, the rock ‘n roll inspired Loud duo had fairly mixed reviews.
