A very interesting fragrance that is fun, sweet and very pleasant. It may be too sweet and spicy for some but it is nicely balanced and musky on the dry down.
On first application you do get a twist of fruit, which is counter-balanced by the black pepper. I also get a slight liquorice-type smell (anise) – but it is not present in the notes, so it must just be my nose working overtime!
The berry sweetness lasts throughout which may not appeal to those who prefer a more traditional floral chypre fragrance.
The dry-down is certainly woody, musky and mellow but it takes a while to get there.
This is not too "in your face" if applied with restraint and has subtle, sexy qualities that are very appealing. A little of this does go a long way as it is very long-lasting indeed.
It is presented in a flask-shaped bottle, with a traditional gold-coloured cap and white see-though netting material stretched over the body of the bottle.
Possibly best as an evening or winter fragrance has it has resinous, sweet and heady qualities that are deep, mellow and warming.
Certainly worth a try and it may convert some traditionalists too.
