The great warm Easter weekend weather was an indication for me to put aside the heavier fragrances of winter and reach for the lighter ones that herald the coming of Spring and Summer. Escada Ocean Lounge is a favourite right now.
First I am drawn to the shape and colour of the bottle. Some perfume bottles are angular, this one stands tall and sits comfortably in my hand. The colours of the bottle go from clear through the cerise pinks down into a rich orange base reminding me of the colours of a fantastic sunset sky.
Tropical nights on a beach at some holiday destination or even on a cruise is what comes to mind as I breathe in the refreshing perfume mix of exotic fruits blended together with a hint of the floral fragrances of mimosa, violets and jasmine. I have to admit that I had never heard of davana, one of the middle notes of this perfume. I have found out that it belongs to the daisy family and has a fruity fragrance and freshness. This must surely add to the appeal of the blend of fruit and flowers. What also draws me to this perfume is the vanilla as I love anything that smells of it! Not sure if I want to go around smelling like a fruit salad so the subtle smell of vanilla, together with the flowers, amber, musk and cedar, helps to tone down the fruitiness of this perfume.
This lovely fragrance lingers quite a while though not as long as the heavier ones. Never mind, just another few squirts to lift the spirits and bring on the smiles.
